Fuel

We all have things we value. Well at least we think we value. But, what does it mean to value something? What is value? People say that stuff is very valuable. Like memorabilia about their ancestors or sports figures or just something they like/love a lot. So my question to you is what make something valuable to someone?
Its during a game on Friday afternoon. We just made a touch down. Jeff Mackey caught an interception for a 40 yard run down field. We are in the huddle for the upcoming two-point conversation. The linemen are down with their hands on the rugged thigh pads. The backs are slouched over the linemen. The huddle smells like dried sweat and normal wet sweat. It also smells like b.o. and nasty unbrushed breath that is coming out hard. Inside the huddle I hear all the backs and the other linemen exhaling very hard. I also hear the steps the quarterback is taking as he jogs over from the coach to the huddle. The play... “249 sweep.” We all say “break” and clap at the same time. As the sweat drips off our face and lands on our chin straps and drips off of our helmets. The line men get down in the squatting position. The Quarterback, as he reaches into the centers backside, yells “DOWN, SET, HUT!” as soon as that football flinches of the line, the linemen fire off the ball and block for their lives. As the running back get the ball and sprints for the end-zone, a linemen from his team gets in front of him and blocks all incomers for that back. We get the two-point conversation. As we jog back to the sidelines, we celebrate.
Then, once I get to the benches I grab one side of my chin strap and pull it off. Then, I do the same to the other side. Then, I take off my helmet and set it on the ground or the bench. I grab the Ice cold(normally solidified) Gatorade. Either red or blue. I unscrew the orange cap labeled “G Series 01 02 03.” Once I get my lips on it, it flows into my mouth like a melting glacier. As i swallow it I can feel it going down my body. It sends my stomach into a whirling tundra. Its so nerve racking it feels good. Then, I put the lid back on and screw it tight, I set it back down on the bench or I just drop it onto the ground. Once, that is done I grab my helmet slip it back on and snap both sides of my chin strap back on. Now, I turn around and I see the pigskin in the air as the kickoff team is running down the field at 100mph, just to hit the first opposite color jersey they see. Then, once the ball carrier hits the ground The Referee blows is shiny metallic whistle. Then Coach Sabbs Calls for the offense and we all sprint into the first huddle of that offensive series. And, it all happens all over again.
My girlfriend is the most amazing person in the world. She is one of the three things that make me happy; the other two are football and money. She is so amazing. Even after almost a year and a half I still get butterflies before I see her. I even get them while I'm around her. She has long brown hair with blond highlights. As the wind blows, her hair flows in it. It twists and twirls in the wind. If your walking behind her and this happens then more than likely you will get it in your face: it’s like a mini-tornado. When I am with her it feels like the whole world has just stopped. It feels like time  has stopped. She is the most amazing thing I have ever met in my life. When I'm with her it feels like nothing could change the mood I am in. Which is normally either excited or ecstatic. There’s nothing on earth that could stop the feelings I have for my girlfriend. Her eyes shine so bright, they are like individual little stars. When I look into them I swear I can see other planets. They shine so bright. I love to look at them. They are the highlight of her facial features.
Our relationship is amazing I think. We love to be with one another. She loves me and I love her. So in my opinion I think our relationship couldn’t get any better. Or, stronger. We’ve had our good times and bad times. But, What couple hasn’t had their problems? We’ve made it through thick and thin. Just like I mentioned before my girlfriend and our relationship are just amazing. I love her so much.
Gatorade means a lot to me. If  I didn’t have Gatorade, I wouldn’t be able to do what I do on the football field on Friday afternoons. My girlfriend means a lot to me. If I didn’t have her in my life, I would be lost. Gatorade is so amazing just like my girlfriend. Without Gatorade, I wouldn’t have energy to play football. Without my girlfriend I would be I wouldn’t know what to do next.
Gatorade and my girlfriend, have some stuff in common. They are amazing just by themselves. I don’t need to add anything to them to make them better. They are both just perfect, in every way shape and form. They both, make me feel good inside and out. They, are different as well. Gatorade, I can drink it. I can’t drink my girlfriend. Because you see that would be weird. My girlfriend can hug me and kiss me. Gatorade cannot do either of those things.
You see I think Gatorade and the relationship between me and my girlfriend are very valuable to me. They both do the same things to me. But, in the other hand, they both do different things to me. They are both very important to me in my life. Sometimes I use them both as motivation. I use Gatorade for when I'm on the football field. I also use my girlfriend in life. She propels me to achieve higher goals then I would normally by myself. I love Gatorade and my girlfriend very, very much.
